Heavy duty construction for trouble-free operation

Built on high-performance double-suction impellers that balance axial thrust, 9800 WS pumps minimize vibration. Even under difficult suction conditions, low impeller inlet velocities ensure superior performance and quiet operation. The design also provides balanced hydraulic radial thrust for minimum shaft deflection and prolonged bearing and seal life.

  • Heavy-duty casing withstands pressure extremes and resists external forces and vibrations
  • Heavy-duty shaft is designed to reduce deflection
  • Renewable shaft sleeves fully protect the shaft from pumpage and remove threaded sections from stress areas
  • Positive liquid sealing protects the shaft and threaded area from pumpage and confined corrosive attack
  • Double suction impeller minimizes axial thrust for highly efficient, vibration-free operation
  • Large inlet areas ensure smooth flow to the impeller inlet for efficient, quiet operation
  • Dual volute design (larger sizes only) generates opposing radial forces that reduce radial loads on bearings and minimize shaft deflection for trouble-free operation over a wide range of flow rates

Custom engineered to application needs

9800 WS split-case pumps are customized pumping solutions able to meet a range of installation and operating requirements.

  • Can be manufactured to NSF 61 compliance for drinking water
  • Choice of side suction or bottom suction allows application flexibility and lowers construction costs
  • Horizontal or vertical installation saves space and reduces station footprint
  • Motor mounted on a cement foundation, a common base plate, or a second floor above the pump
  • Roller or sleeve-type bearings to carry radial loads and provide stability
  • Spherical roller, double row ball, or plate type thrust bearings handle thrust loads under all operating conditions
  • Wide variety of metallurgies to suit the application

Easy to install and service

Flanges on common centerlines simplify piping layouts for pump station construction, and each pump offers easy access to the interior components for maintenance. The axially split casing can be quickly removed for inspection or maintenance without the need to disturb the piping, driver, or alignment.

Renewable impeller and casing wear rings also permit easy maintenance of proper running clearances that will result in increased impeller service life and sustained operational efficiency.
